About Gabriel Corens, LICSW

pcit therapist

About

I am a child, family, and adult psychotherapist with a specialization in the treatment of developmental and complex trauma. I am also a certified PCIT therapist. I trained and worked at the Trauma Center in Brookline, MA with Dr. Bessel van der Kolk, have worked for a large social services agency supporting effective treatments for children in outpatient and residential care, and helped to lead multiple National Child Traumatic Stress Network projects.

At my core, I believe in the dignity of my clients and strive to create trusting and healing relationships. I have advanced training in PCIT, neurofeedback, and additional trauma-informed and evidenced-based therapies. Prior to becoming a therapist, I worked in the fields of international humanitarianism and IT. I have two young children and also speak Spanish.
